South Jordan is a highly coveted community to live in Utah.  South Jordan sits along the Jordan River and has a population of 74,149 as of 2018.  The community has been growing at an average of 3.18% annually.  Part of the Salt Lake Metropolitan area, South Jordan has some of the best schools in the state with students producing higher than average test scores.  There are 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school.  Bingham High School has produced many college bound scholars and athletes from their school.  While Herriman High School is not located in South Jordan, many students who live into South Jordan feed into the highly rated Herriman High School because of the school boundaries.

South Jordan has a “AAA” rating for how finances are handled, accordingly to the Fitch Rating Agency analytical review of finances conducted in May 2020.  As part of this “AAA” highest possible rating, South Jordan spending habits and controls, ability to pay its debt, and revenue stability make it a perfect place for residents to know the city is handling its finances in the best possibly way. 

South Jordan has 2 beautiful golf courses in the community and is the host of many marathons and races throughout the year.  South Jordan hosts the Summerfest every year in June to kick off summer, where families come together for fun summer events.  The celebration ends with a large display of fireworks!  Due to Covid-19 challenges, the city conducted the 2020 event virtually so that the community could still participate in events.

Other events throughout the year include a farmer’s market every Saturday from August to October 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Town Center as well as SoJo Story walks that allow participants to walk along the Jordan River and read displays from popular children’s books.

The Gale Center Museum opened in 2006 and houses the Arts Council’s Artist on display and allows for public rental of the auditorium.  Prior to becoming the museum, the building served as the South Jordan library.  The South Jordan library now located in the South Jordan Towne Center. 

The Salt Lake County Equestrian Park is located in South Jordan.  The center has some of the finest equestrian facilities within the Intermountain West with its premier racing, training and show facility.  The indoor arena has about 3000 seats, an AQHA approved ¾ mile track, 5 outdoor arenas (1 covered), 350 show stalls, a beautiful 12 acre polo field, and long-term boarding stalls and paddocks.  The park is open daily 9:00am to 10:00pm to the general public, unless reserved for events.

South Jordan has more than 35 city parks, 2 county parks, over 9 miles of hiking/biking/walking trails, 3 fishing ponds, 250 acres of natural open space with a variety of recreational facilities throughout the city. 

It is easy to see that South Jordan is a premier place for people to live in and conduct their business in.
